J&J Half Rack — Face Cord of Seasoned Hardwood

8 feet of stacked logs, 4 feet high. On Long Island this gets called a "half cord." It is a face cord — 42.7 cubic feet, or one third of a full cord. We call it the Half Rack and we tell you the real number, because a cord is 128 cubic feet and nobody should have to do that math in a driveway.

Long Island hardwood, hand-cut, seasoned. Northern Red Oak, White Birch, White Oak, American Beech and other natives — we can't guarantee a species, but it always burns hot and bright. Logs run 12"–24" long and 5"–7" across.
