Our apple firewood is locally sourced, processed, and kiln-dried in the northeastern United States from apple trees. Apple wood is a dense, hot-burning firewood, producing about 26.5 million BTUs per cord — heat at a similar rate to white oak. Apple wood is a fragrant, fruity wood with a high density, making it the perfect wood for over-the-fire cooking, smoking, or low and slow BBQ. Apple firewood is also an ideal wood for outdoor or indoor uses, because of its pleasant smell and high heat output. Because of its density and high heat output, apple wood can be difficult to use, and the heat may be hard to manage for novices. Nonetheless, expert pitmasters, pizzaiolos, campers, wood burners, and chefs prize the wood for the properties that make it an expert-level firewood.
